Asking questions #
In order for the network to provide an answer to your question without any discussions, it is crucial to ask a clear and comprehensive question. Once you submit your question, you will receive an answer, and then a task will be created for you to validate the answer.
Please note that IQADOT does not have a traditional support system for discussion threads when it comes to asking and answering questions. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that your question or problem description is thorough, comprehensive, and presented clearly as a question. This will help us provide you with an appropriate and effective response.
Managing your questions #
You manage your questions from the My questions menu on the main portal page:
Stage | Description |
---|---|
Drafts | Gives a list of questions that you are working on. |
Submitted | Questions that you have submitted. Submitted questions cannot be changed anymore. |
Archived | Questions that been finished processing appear here. |
Following | Questions that you have been following and are being answered appear here. Once a question has been answered, it will be automatically bookmarked and removed from this list. |
Writing questions #
Please take into account the following:
-
A question must have a subject line
-
Be as clear and comprehensible as possible when you write the contents of your question
-
If applicable, enrich your question by using the rich editing features of the editing panel
-
Attach files to your question only if the attachments are of safe origin and comply with your company policy
-
Increase knowledge creation on the network by adding relations to other knowledge items to your question
Approving answers to your question #
When your question gets answers, a task will be created for you to validate the received answer by choosing a follow up action:
Action | Description |
---|---|
Accept answer | If you are satisfied and have verified that the answer you received addresses your question and provides a solution to your problem, please select this option. Once submitted, the answering process will be completed, and the item will be published to the channel's feed. |
Choose an answer | If you believe that a different answer received during the process better addresses your question and you have verified its accuracy, select this option. Upon submission, the answering process will conclude and the response will be published in the channel's feed. |
Dismiss answer | If none of the above options are applicable, meaning that none of the answers you have received adequately address your question, then select this action. Consequently, your question will be taken out of the answering queue and saved as a draft once again. |
Answer self | If you believe you have found a better answer than what you received from the network, please enter it here as the solution to your own query. After submission, the answering process will conclude, and the item will be published to the channel's feed. |
Revoke question | If, after careful deliberation, you believe that it is preferable to withdraw your question, please select this option. Once submitted, the answering process will be terminated. |
Delegate to Supervisor | If none of the options mentioned above are applicable, select this action to assign the validation task to a Supervisor. IQADOT will then request the Supervisor's decision. |
Please prioritize providing mandatory feedback as it significantly enhances the overall quality of knowledge-sharing.
